"Went to Penang from SG for a short trip with my bf. Found this cute hair salon located right across the beach 🏖️ , recommended by ChatGPT hahaha. Welcomed with warm drinks and towel. 🍵 My haircut was done by Simon, very skilful and knowledgeable hair stylist, rich in experience. 💇🏻‍♀️ Very reliable, I just told him I want face framing hairstyle, and he reassure me to just leave it to him. 💯 Simon did offered me hair colouring and perm as well. To be honest, I wish I had the time to do that cause he seems very specialise in perm as well. But too bad my schedule was very packed. 🥲 ( I lowkey want to fly back here to do it but let’s see my schedule 🙈). For my bf’s haircut, it was done by the chief level, Becky/Peggy (unsure of the spelling). Side haircut was well done, but my bf feels that his hair was trimmed too much + slanted at the right side, like not balance (PS: he has permed hair, maybe a little challenging). I guess she had a good intention to trim it neatly due to my bf’s permed frizzy hair, but sadly he did not feel good with the current hairstyle, and now hiding with the cap. 🧢🥲 Overall experience is very pleasant for me, but gave 4 stars cause my bf is too self conscious of his hair during the entire trip 😂😅"

"Had balayage hair done here! I’ve had balayage done multiple times all over the world and Peggy is the most detailed and best hairstylist I’ve ever had. So much effort was put into ensuring a great result. All of my hair was separated into tiny strands and bleached and colored individually— it was a Herculean effort. The end result was colors that blend perfectly together. My haircut unsurprisingly was perfect as well. She takes a lot of pride in her work. My mom also had her hair done by another hairstylist (sorry I didn’t get his name). He could have acceded to my mom’s request for highlights with subpar results but instead suggested for something else that suits her better. We both got many useful tips from them as well! Thank you to the assistants too. Highly recommend!! Will add photos later"

"As a platinum blonde traveler, finding a good salon who can do western hair is not always easy! From the moment I reached out to Wave, they were extremely professional with me. I ended up choosing them because they had availability for me, their prices were reasonable and they were very responsive compared to the other salons I reached out to in Penang. When I arrived, they offered me a menu of beverages, with water and Jasmine tea being free and other options going for 10 ringgit. Becky did my hair, she was awesome! Her English is great and she’s very social. A few other girls worked on my hair and they were all very considerate and kind as well. I came in to get my roots touched up, as it had been 11 weeks since the last touch up. I asked for half head highlights, and they quoted me around 500 ringgit originally. In the end I paid about 650 total for bleaching / medium length highlight. My hair was quite grown out. The color was also a bit more ashy/gray than I expected, but I still really liked the outcome. It was needed! The space is also really cute! Very clean and well decorated. I highly recommend!"
